Sunset Today - 25 Jan 05

Sunset #1
Sunset #2
Sunset #3
Hi there everyone! I'm baaaaaaackkk!! Sorry for not posting & keeping you up-to-date after my vacation trip to Lebanon. Anyway, had a smashing time (as always) there. My laptop's been acting up since I got home from the trip .... that's why I wasn't able to upload & share with u my fotos from Lebanon. It's still not working properly ... some of the keys on the keyboard is like stuck ... espcially the "Return" key. Anyway .... took these this evening after work. Been trying for a few days for that window of opportunity to get the sunset. These fotos aren't perfect yet ... will try again to get better ones. BTW, these were taken somewhere at the East Coast, right behind the airport. Till the next installment ....

btw, nice to see you back safely . Lebanon pics plss Tue 25-Jan-2005 23:04

The Istana Kampung Gelam was the residence of the Malay royalty in Singapore. Not many Singaporeans know of its existence and history ... very sad indeed.

The government took the right step to restore this beautiful building & convert it into a heritage centre for the malay community in Singapore (who were/are the original inhabitants of the island). The ctr currently houses artifacts from S'pore and around the region which have significance to the malay community here.

Love the nite shot. Reminds me of the Raja Brooke Castle when I last visited Kuching, Sarawak during the night. Sun 12-Dec-2004 05:33

Here's my tribute to the babes (men not included) I managed to photograph during the 2 days event at the Malay Heritage Centre.

This place is great for a themed model shoot. Hmmm ... maybe I should organise that sometime ... anybody interested??

For all of you out there: Do drop by the Heritage Ctr when you visit Singapore.

ok then, i'll leave it here ... and hopefully my pics dun get leeched to porn or girlie websites.

did u use an external flash for d shots? i'd rekomen u to have one if u don't. it'd certainly improve your outdoor shots. Mon 21-Feb-2005 05:16

Yup, I do have an external flash - the SB800 ... but was using it sparingly on that day. Didn't know better then ... but now I know. Using it as often to fill in.

Thanks for the tip!!!

Hetty Sarlene @ The Malay Heritage Centre, Istana Kampung Gelam

Hetty Sarlene ... cute pose ... :p
Taken during her performance at nite. Sorry abt the blurry foto
It's been a long while since I've updated my Photoblog.

Lots of stuff ... events / happenings to update u all but first I'm posting this photo of quite a well-known Malay celebrity (singer/actor) from Singapore who's making it big in Malaysia. She's none other than the ever oh-so-beautiful Hetty Sarlene.

Actually I ain't a fan. Don't even know her songs. But I think she's cute .... especially in this pose here.

Well ... I caught her at the opening of the Malay Heritage Centre at the Istana Kampung Gelam. The opening was a grand occasion. More about that later. This photo of Hetty was taken on the 2nd day, i.e. Sunday, 28 Nov 04.

I really felt like a paparazzi going around taking photos of celebrities, VIPs ... but it's all in good fun.

Now ... why did Hetty strike this pose?? I dunno ... My intention was to take a nice candid shot of her but when she saw me pointing my D70 at her, she gave me this pose. Yeah ... it's not so flattering but I thought it was cute.

OK ... 'nuff said. Will upload photos of the soft launch cum Hari Raya Open House of the Malay Heritage Centre at the Istana Kampung Gelam once I've completed the Photoshop touch-up.

Sorry about this photo. I think it looks a bit reddish. Bumped up a tad too much of contrast. Still an L-plate in Photoshop

Update: OK, I've made some adjustments to the color of the photo. Hope it looks fine now. Hmm ... think I need to color-calibrate my laptop monitor.

To Hetty: It was nice & a pleasure meeting u for the first time. Hope to meet you again at some other events.

jeles tngok hety ngan zed zaidi dalam SEMBILU

Another Milestone is Achieved!

One of the Contractors involved in the project I'm involved achieved a significant milestone on 9th Nov 04.

They've managed to complete the casting of the roof of one of the process buildings.

To commemorate this achivement, a simple ceremony was held where a bell was rung by the partners involved - i.e. the client, the consultant & the contractor. Lunch was provided for everyone (including the workers) who has worked hard to achieve this significant date.

Congratulations & well done to all involved!!

Product Shots??

Scarves ... 1
Scarves ... 2
Met a friend of my mum at an exhibition at the S'pore Expo on Saturday. Asked me to help her take photos of some stuff she was promoting. Said that she wanted to have the fotos taken for a magazine ... and since I happened to be there with my D70 ... oh well ....

Hmm .... but I don't think the fotos turned out that good ... was actually caught by surprised when she asked ...

Did a little bit of processing with Photoshop. Hmm ... gonna pass these to her. Hope she likes them.

Personally, I don't think these fotos worked at all. Whaddya think
