A fun day shooting these girls. What better way to spend Boxing Day then vegetating in front of the telly ...

These girls are Cosplayers. You can go to www.cosplay.com to find out what cosplay is (I think)

Anyways, these pics were edited in PS CS ... and a PS plug-in (optikVerve Labs)to achieve the final effect.

Feel free to critique ...

This is cool!!! Nice pics u got there. Are the models japanese? Mon 2-Jan-2006 10:22

New Year's Day Fireworks Display @ Marina Bay

Happy New Year to all my visitors!!!

There were 2 major fireworks displays in Singapore - at Mount Faber & Marina Bay. I was at Marina Bay cos I wasn't too sure where wld be the best location to shoot the fireworks at Mount Faber (cos it was the first time the fireworks are being launched at that location).

Hope you had a memorable 2005 & looking forward to a more prosperous 2006.

Let's pray for peace in the year ahead ... Make Love, Not War

As always, stunning fireworks shots Imran Sun 8-Jan-2006 00:09

Continuation of my "Journeys" series ...

FYI, I was supposed to hold my first exhibition at the Malay Heritage Centre end of last month together with 3 other photographers. However, it has been postponed tentatively to November to coincide with the school holidays here. In addition there's no space in the gallery as there are still some exhibition of artifacts. Let's wait & see what MHC can provide.

Assalamu'alaikum

I had just taken a look at ur photographs.. They are amazing. Although I know nuts abt photography except any-old-how snapping.. I can definitely appreciate well taken shots. You pics are so sharp and alive.. Personal favourites are the ones on Lebanon and Xinjiang.. All the best to u.. Insha Allah u'll be part of the National Geog photojournalist team soon

Geylang Serai Light Up 2005

Bird's eye view
... taken 20 storeys high!
Street procession
View all 4 photos...
This year will be the last year that you will see the old Geylang Serai market & flats. The buildings wil be torn down & in its place a spanking ultra-modern market will be built.

I will be trying my best to document this place & capture the atmosphere starting from Ramadhan up till the demolition of the Geylang Serai market.

So stay tuned!

For now, here's what happened on Saturday, 1st Oct 05 ...

Excellent . I like pics 3 . Keep on experimenting ! Tue 4-Oct-2005 07:40

I guess the procession was held due to the fact that it's the last Ramadhan bazaar at Geylang right ? Very meriah..shame I wasn't there to witness it.. but yes, I'll be looking foward to all of the updates..or downdates towards the demolition of the good ol' Geylang Serai market . Sad to learn about the exhibition Imran, it's very disappointing indeed but I'm sure that just gives you more time to take more outstanding shots in the meantime.. Love your 20th storey shots by the way.. angle pintar !! Tue 4-Oct-2005 20:10

An Afternoon in Kampung Gelam

Nora
Nora & I-dunno-what's-her-name
Chanced upon a commercial filming at the Istana Kampung Gelam when I was covering an event there.

These 2 models are well-known celebrities in the Malay entertainment scene in Singapore. Luckily I wasn't chased away cos I know the director doing the filming.

Wah.. lucky you Imran . I'm sure your photos enhanced their beauty even more ( Siapa mereka ? ) . By the way..any photos of your recent exhibition to share ? Wed 28-Sep-2005 12:49
